caution Toxic: this is essentially lead oxide, and no amount of lead exposure is considered safe
caution External use still carries risk: lead can be absorbed through skin, above all broken skin, and the powder can be swallowed or inhaled by accident, especially by children
caution Case reports repeatedly trace lead poisoning to lead-bearing traditional Chinese medicine products, topical ones included
caution For children, no blood lead level is known to be safe; even low exposure is linked to harm to development and cognition
