Bleeding with stasis, such as vomiting dark clotted blood or a nosebleed after injury; bleeding from Heat or deficiency needs other herbs

Invigorates Blood, moves Qi and relieves pain

Pain in the epigastrium and abdomen when Spleen and Stomach Qi stagnates
Chest pain from Blood stasis
Fixed, stabbing pain in the chest or flanks from stagnant Qi and Blood, including angina-type chest pain

Harmonises the Middle Jiao, descends Qi and resolves turbidity

Nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain when Damp accumulates or turbid Damp blocks the Middle Jiao, often paired with aromatic herbs such as Huo Xiang
