Actions and indications

Warms the Middle Jiao and dispels Cold

  • Cold in the Stomach in children
  • Watery diarrhea with nausea and vomiting and no thirst
  • Abdominal or epigastric pain and fullness that likes pressure
  • Cold limbs and aversion to cold; fullness and pain in the chest, with flank pain shooting toward the Heart
  • Hard focal distention below the Heart, with too much foamy saliva or drooling
  • Possibly headache with fever and body aches

Strengthens the Spleen and Stomach and tonifies Qi

  • Poor appetite and weak digestion, pale face, tiredness, lassitude, shortness of breath and emaciation
  • Frequent urination, or scanty urine with oedema; insomnia
  • Chronic bleeding of pale blood: nosebleed, vomiting or coughing up blood, blood in the stool, rectal or uterine bleeding, or heavy periods
  • Tongue pale, possibly moist, with a white coat or none; pulse deep, weak and slow, deep and thin, or large and weak
