Cautions

caution Ban Lan Gen is cold and bitter; used long or in large amounts it can harm Spleen and Stomach Yang, giving loose stools, poor appetite or abdominal discomfort; take care when digestion is weak and cold
contraindication Headache from deficient Blood or Yin (because of Qiang Huo)
caution Qiang Huo in larger amounts can bring on nausea or dizziness in sensitive people; take care in the elderly or deficient
contraindication Pure Wind-Cold without Heat-toxin, or a sore throat of the deficiency type
