contraindication Deficiency Cold of the Spleen and Stomach: its bitter, cold nature can injure Spleen and Stomach Yang, bringing loose stools, poor appetite and a sense of cold, especially with long use
contraindication A weak constitution
contraindication Absence of Fire toxin or Heat signs

Drug interactions

Sulfonylureas (tolbutamide, glipizide, glyburide) and sulfonamides (sulfanilamide, sulfisoxazole, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim with sulfamethoxazole, erythromycin with sulfisoxazole): people allergic to these may also react to the herb, so use with caution
Other cold, flu or antiviral medicines: combining them may duplicate or add to effects (precautionary; not a demonstrated interaction)
