Clears Heat and resolves Fire toxicity

  • Hot, painful, swollen sores, boils and skin eruptions at any stage, often with fever, especially of the breast (mastitis), throat or eyes
  • Infections, including herpes simplex
  • Intestinal abscess, carbuncles, abscesses, pimples and toxic sores (Chuang Yung)

Vents and disperses Wind-Heat from the Exterior

  • Onset of Wind-Heat or Warm disease, such as a common cold, with headache, a sore throat, fever and chills, and mild dislike of Wind
  • Summerheat from the Exterior

Clears Damp-Heat from the Lower Jiao

  • Lower Jiao Damp-Heat with dysentery, diarrhea or Lin syndrome
