Constipation from excess Heat: + qian niu zi, + da huang, + zao jiao, + mang xiao

Cautions

contraindication Bleeding due to Cold or to deficient Qi or Blood (blood typically pale or dark in colour), which calls for warming and tonifying instead
caution For acute bleeding only: stop once the bleeding has stopped, as long use of its cold, astringent herbs can lead to Blood stasis
caution Any active or unexplained bleeding should be assessed promptly by a qualified practitioner, not self-treated
