Tonifies Lung and Kidney Qi and helps the Kidneys grasp Qi

Deficient Qi of both Lungs and Kidneys, with Phlegm-Heat left in the Lungs, in a long-standing cough that has spread from the Lungs down to the Kidneys
Long-term breathlessness and wheeze that get worse with effort or on the in-breath
Weight loss over time, tiredness, and in advanced cases puffiness of the face or legs
Chronic Lung atrophy or consumptive Lung disease from deficiency Heat

Clears Lung Heat and transforms Phlegm

Cough with thick, yellow sputum, sometimes bringing up pus and blood
Hot, irritable, restless feeling in the chest
Tongue purple with a thin coat, white or yellow and greasy; pulse floating and deficient, most of all at the first position
