Hot, sticky nodules and a bitter taste: + zhe bei mu, + gua lou
Marked dryness of mouth and throat: + xuan shen, + zhi mu, + mu dan pi
Liver Qi stagnation with pain of the chest and flanks: + chai hu, + bai shao, + qing pi
Excess Phlegm-Fire: + zhe bei mu, + gua lou, + qing dai, + ge qiao
Anger, agitation and irritability: + zhi zi, + huang lian, + huang qin
Yin deficiency Fire: + di gu pi, + mu dan pi, + zhi mu
Enlarged thyroid gland: + kun bu, + hai zao, + xia ku cao
Breast hyperplasia (combined with Xiao Yao San)
AIDS: + shan ci gu, + zhi ban xia, + jiang can, + xia ku cao, + hai zao, + zhi tian nan xing, + bai jie zi, + bai hua she she cao, + huang yao zi

Cautions

contraindication Nodules from congealed Cold rather than Phlegm-Fire
caution Mu Li is cold and heavy; take care when the Spleen and Stomach are weak or cold
caution Any new or growing lump in the neck should be medically assessed for infection, thyroid disease or cancer; the formula does not replace that

Preparation

Decoction with Mu Li cooked first; traditionally also powdered and made into honey pills
