Clears Heat and cools Blood

Heat in the Blood, of excess or deficiency type
Periods that come early, with heavy, thick flow that is dark red or purplish red and may smell bad
Attacks of lower abdominal pain, with a stifling feeling in the epigastrium or abdomen
Irritability, a burning feeling in the Heart region, and a red face
Sore, weak lower back and knees
Tongue red with a yellow coat; pulse slippery and rapid

Purges Fire

Thirst with a wish for cold drinks and a dry mouth
Yellow urine and constipation with dry stools
Possibly red eyes, mouth ulcers and nosebleeds
