• Dark purple vessels visible on the abdomen, dark purple tongue and choppy pulse: + san leng, + e zhu, + dan shen
• Jaundice with Spleen and Stomach deficiency and stagnant Damp-Heat: + yin chen, − zhi gan cao, − chao zhi mu
• Leukorrhagia from Spleen deficiency with Damp-Heat, Damp predominant: + bai zhu, + fu ling

Cautions

• contraindication Only for distension from Damp-Heat; do not use unmodified for distension from Cold
• contraindication Not for pure deficiency distension without Damp-Heat, where it can further injure Spleen Yang
• pregnancy Contains Zhi Shi and Ban Xia; in pregnancy use only with professional guidance
• caution A strong, many-herb formula with large amounts of bitter cold herbs; it needs professional prescribing and monitoring, especially if ascites or liver disease is suspected
