Cautions

contraindication Bloody, painful urination from Qi deficiency, or hematuria and frequent urination from Spleen or Kidney deficiency without Heat (pale, watery urine, tiredness, cold signs)

pregnancy Contraindicated in pregnancy; it holds Dang Gui and strongly draining, diuretic herbs
caution Not for long-term use: its cold, draining herbs can damage Spleen and Stomach Yang; stop or change it once the Heat and bleeding settle
caution Use Chuan Mu Tong (Clematis), never Guan Mu Tong (Aristolochia), which is linked to serious kidney damage and, with long use, urinary tract cancer
caution Blood in the urine that persists or returns always needs medical assessment
