Actions and indications

Removes Wind-Damp and disperses Cold

  • Painful obstruction (Bi) of the whole body from Wind, Cold and Damp
  • Aching, heavy joints, especially the wrists, ankles, knees and elbows, and muscle pain; often worse in cold or damp weather
  • Pain worse with cold, wind or damp and better with warmth; cold joints and aversion to cold
  • Pain that wanders or is fixed; often better with movement or worse at night
  • Tongue slightly purple or with purple spots and a thick white coat; pulse slow and soft, possibly slippery, slightly floating or rough, wiry and tight, or floating and wiry

Circulates Qi and Blood and eliminates painful obstruction

  • Chronic pain that has led to local stagnant Qi and Blood; stabbing pain
  • Shoulders and arms as well as low back and legs affected
  • Stiffness, restricted movement and difficult motion
