Bai Zhi (白芷) is the root of Dahurian angelica, a plant of the carrot family, recorded as Radix Angelicae Dahuricae. It is acrid in flavour and warm in temperature, entering the Lung, Spleen and Stomach channels. The catalogue files it among the acrid, warm herbs that release the Exterior.
