• contraindication Blood deficiency, since the herb is very drying
• contraindication Vaginal discharge caused by Blood Heat
• contraindication Fire from Yin deficiency, which its strongly drying nature aggravates
• contraindication Vaginal discharge driven by Fire from deficient Yin
• contraindication Vomiting of any kind that comes from Fire
• contraindication Febrile disorders
• caution Once pus is draining freely from a sore, taper the herb off gradually
• caution Large amounts can cause convulsions and paralysis throughout the body
• caution Rich in furanocoumarins, which make the skin sensitive to light; avoid long exposure to strong sun after taking it
