Cautions

pregnancy Contraindicated in pregnancy: Dang Gui, Dan Shen, Ru Xiang and Mo Yao move the Blood and may stimulate the uterus
contraindication No true Blood stasis; the formula moves and disperses and is not a tonic
caution With warfarin and other anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs: use with care, as Dan Shen in particular may interact; the same care applies to active bleeding or a bleeding disorder
caution Raw Ru Xiang and Mo Yao can upset a sensitive stomach; lower their amount, or stop, if nausea, vomiting or stomach upset appears

Preparation

Decoction of the four herbs, using raw rather than dry-fried Ru Xiang and Mo Yao
