caution Contains Xi Xin, which naturally holds aristolochic acid and safrole: keep to small doses, avoid high or long use, avoid with kidney impairment, and do not combine with Li Lu
caution The Mu Tong must be Chuan Mu Tong (Clematis armandii); never substitute Guan Mu Tong (Aristolochia manshuriensis), which contains aristolochic acid and is linked to kidney damage. Check the botanical source before dispensing
